Sara (Clark) Kennedy
My friend just told me about this. I am so very sorry to hear of this. What is weird is I thought I saw him a few days ago... He was the first person I met at Drury. Of course, like almost all the girls at Drury, I had an instant crush!! He was always so sweet and really listened to what you had to say. I remember his great photography insight in Photo I and II. He completely blew us out of the water!!! My friend Stacie and I even went to his folks house for a photo shoot. He took a neat photo of me in the cornfield in his back yard that is still on my wall. I enjoyed our trip (with Dr Roy's research lab) to Chicago and all of the adventures at Drury. He was such a good person and will be missed.

I met and worked with Mason over the course of my time at Drury from 2001-2005. We spent countless long hours in the summer doing chemistry research. Mason taught me all I needed to know in a manner that made me feel I was his friend rather than "low man on the totem-pole."I also performed with Mason in a musical my freshman year, and of course, wanted to be just like him! The world was a better place with Mason in it, and he will be deeply missed.

Crystal Flores
I have just found out about this....I am praying for Mason's family. I have done a few photo shoots with Mason and he was by far the best photographer that I have met.

Donald Keen, M.D. and Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Don was a classmate at Mizzou and friend of Mason's. He will be missed.

The last time I saw Mason was when he came to visit me in Flagstaff, Arizona with Andy White and Lane Clevenger in the winter of 2001. We had a great time snowboarding, visiting the Grand Canyon, and just hanging out! Mason was an amazing human being and will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Mason was one of my best friends in high school. I can't believe he's gone and it has been so long since I've seen him. What everyone says is true. He was talented, smart, and very, very kind. I'm so sad he's gone and so sorry for the family's loss. I'll always remember practicing for history bowl, going to the coffee shop, and just hanging out with him. It was all a pleasure. He will be missed.

My condolences,

Beverly Gibson
Cole, Donna and Nickie, I just found about Mason. I am so, so sorry for your loss. I'll be praying for you to find peace and comfort. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

I met Mason through a girlfriend of his. He was such a warm, helpful, caring individual who was so talented with the camera. This news is such a shock and I wish to send his family wishes in this hard time.

Kayica Turner Allain
I met Mason's bright, smiling face at Drury. He was a confident, out-going, friendly student who had the gift to make people laugh and feel at ease. We brainstormed ideas together on the Student Union Board, and he never fell short of creativity.

His life, though short here on Earth, was one well-lived.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Kandace Eck
The world has lost so much beauty and talent but your beautiful and creative photography will live on!! I hope that his colleagues will also honor his memory by practicing the way he did, which was with compassion and understanding!

My first experience with Mason was on the side of Sunderland field during the early part of fall of my freshmen year at Drury University. I had recently joined the same fraternity as Mason and would soon be made his little brother in the same organization. Our conversation lasted about 45 minutes and covered subjects as wide and varied as the play that he was in to the philosophy of Descartes. Mason was if anything a modern Renaissance thinker. What stood out to me throughout was the light and energy that seemed to emanate from Masons being- his speech, body language, laugh and even eyes. With some people it seems like the first thing that you notice about them is the innate goodness within, Mason was one of those people. Over the 9 years that I knew Mason, he always seemed to be the quickest with a smile and warm greetings, even if there had been a year or two between the last time that you saw him.
I will always remember Mason as I saw him on that fall day, with the leaves starting to change and the warm breeze. Please accept my deepest apologizes for your loss.

This news came as such a shock, as I'm sure it did with everyone who knew mason.

I met him while i was at work and I remember thinking... He looks like a model. lol.

We had talked about doing a shoot, but timing had always gotten the best of us.

I just returned from California so we could finally shoot and it seems that once again, timing got the best of us.

My heart goes out to the family!

I'm glad I got to know him!

I was a friends of Mason's from Drury through Sigma Pi, and had kept in touch with him sporadically over the past few years via email. He was one of the most endlessly talented people I have ever known to this day. He had th unusual ability to reach down and touch that essential matter at the center of our existence and bring it back up for the rest of us to catch a rare glimpse. I am sure he will be sorely missed by all who were regula fixtures in his life, as well as those who had the unique opportunity to know him the short time he as with us. My deepest sympathies to the family and close friends.

Kristi (Anderson) Hart
I don't know of anyone who didn't like Mason- which is rare to say about someone. He is the definition of kind. Someone you are proud to say you knew. Mason will be thought of dearly.

Cole, Donna, Nikki and family, My heart truly aches for you. I cannot imagine how hard this day is for you to go through. My thoughts and prayers have been with you since I learned of this tragedy. I remember the day Mason was born. He was special even as a tiny baby. Remember riding exercise bikes in Barb's basement, taking turns holding Mason. His intelligence was so evident even then. The day he repelled down your house, after watching Mcgyver when he was a little tyke, scared but amazed us all. The Christmas and Birthday celebrations we used to have for the kids were so much fun. I will always cherish my memories and the pictures I have of Mason, Michael, Tanya, Kristi, and Nikki at those. I loved Mason so much. He was such a beautiful boy.
Love, Donna

We enjoyed having Mason on our plastic surgery service during his 3rd year rotations. He seemed to be a kind soul who was very interested in medicine of many different specialties. We are very saddened by the news of his passing and extend our condolences to his family and friends.

Annita Jeffries
Mason was a wonderful little boy, always exploring something new, always kind. I remember him riding his big wheels trike *motorcycle, dressed in black leatherjacket, shades and spiked hair!

Sarah (Lovinger) Florio
I first met Mason at Summerscape in 1994 and I developed a crush on the cute smart guy who wore the multicolored bead necklace. We wrote letters a couple times after camp, and I even acquired his 6th grade school photo which I quickly placed in my scrapbook. I was pleasantly surprised to find Mason in my freshman class at Drury, and also in the majority of my classes. There were two rural "Bryant" scholars from Drury, and Mason and I got to share that honor. Four years later, we found ourselves starting medical school at Mizzou. I always admired Mason's intelligence, and have valued his friendship over the several years that I have known him. I will continue to value all of the wonderful memories from Summerscape, Drury, and Mizzou that I have with Mason. He was such a wonderful and talented person, and he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.

A sympathy card has been sent to the family of Dr. Mason Paul Cummins c/o Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home funeral home.

From the first day of my second year of medical school, when I saw Mason on his first day, he changed my world. He soon became an integral part of my medical school career and life as I knew it. The two years I spent with him taught me far greater lessons than I have learned from books. His calm approach and intentful eyes were two of my favorite qualities. He stood by my side through some of my most difficult moments in those last years and it breaks my heart that I cannot make it to stand by his. My heart goes out to Mason and his family. No one that ever met him will forget him, he blessed many and will forever remain in those many hearts. I miss you Mason and forever I love you.

Jessica Fleagle

I want to offer my condolences. I enjoyed working with Mason when he rotated through our department. He was a very nice gentlemen and he will be missed.

Kristin (Tucker) Fillingham
Mason was a rare soul and I cherished his friendship. He was one of those "old friends" who help define who you are. He lived life to the fullest measure-and I was aways in awe of the way he pursued his art and passion. No doubt he has left his mark on this world-in my life and in the lives of all he came in contact with. I am so thankful that I was able to know him the past 15+ years and I will miss him terribly. I pray that you would feel God's presence with you during this awful time.

Clark O. Andelin
My prayers and sympathies go out to Mason's family.
